The Best Pilates Grip Socks on Amazon
Why do we wear grip socks in Pilates and Barre?
In pilates and barre, having the right grip is essential for maintaining proper form and preventing injuries. Pilates grip socks also provide a hygienic barrier between your feet and shared equipment, which is why many pilates and barre studios require them.
Pilates grip socks have non slip grips and provide traction. There are three main varieties of grip socks for pilates: toe socks, toeless socks, and regular socks. Pilates socks are hygienic in a studio setting. And if you do pilates at the house wearing grip socks will help you maintain form and help prevent slipping.
We considered 18 different brands and pairs of pilates and barre grip socks. And here are the best pilates grip socks:
Best Fitting Regular Grip Socks - Tavi Pilates Grip Socks
I tried not one but two different types of Tavi pilates grip socks. Both pairs were hands down the best regular pilates grip socks for a few different reasons.
PROS:
Strong grip - these socks are ideal for anyone doing pilates or barre. The grip is strong and you will not slide around.
Tight sock - When you are doing a pose that requires alot of push or balance on your foot the sock stays put. Many other sock brands would have loose fabric that would cause some sliding.
Soft and Sustainable - these socks are incredibly soft, breathable, and moisture wicking. Tavi uses 73% organic cotton making it a more sustainable option. But lets be honest, the softness of these socks is unparalleled.
CONS:
More expensive than other options you can buy..
Toe socks are better for holding poses. Although I am not a big toe sock girl (I love the crew sock aesthetic) there is no denying that toe socks are better for foot and toe articulation, holding poses, and less “sliding” of the sock.
Despite the price increase if you plan on being consistent with your pilates or barre practice it is absolutely worth it. Having pilates socks that fit improperly can cause poor form, slipping, and injury. Because these socks are constructed better they will fit you better.
If you’re lost between buying regular grip socks and toe socks check out this article:
Best Toe Socks - ToeSox
Its no surprise that ToeSocks are high on quality because it's the sister company of Tavi Socks. They share many of the same features: extensive sizing options, soft organic cotton, and a nice strong grip.
PROS:
Sizes- This is something very unique to ToeSox they offer sizing from XS-XL. Having socks that fit your feet is important so you aren’t sliding in your poses.
Strong grip - these socks are ideal for anyone doing pilates or barre. The grip is strong and you will not slide around.
Soft and Sustainable - these socks are incredibly soft, breathable, and moisture wicking. Tavi uses 73% organic cotton making it a more sustainable option. But lets be honest, the softness of these socks is unparalleled.
Cons:
More expensive than other options you can buy.
Lack of stylish options - this is a problem that many toe sock brands face.
Best for the Price - Verdancy Grip Socks
Many of the socks that I tried on below this price point I wouldn’t recommend. Cheaper socks are not fitted to the foot and leave excess fabric so when you stand in certain poses your feet slide around. These socks fit quite well and are cheaper than the other socks mentioned.
PROS:
Quick Shipping with Amazon Prime for SOME styles
Soft and Breathable - these socks are made from a higher quality cotton. To me they feel like Pima Cotton. With many of the other socks on Amazon, I felt like it trapped sweat and these were incredibly breathable and soft.
Fitted to form your foot's natural curves - Do you see the scrunchy part in the middle? This helps keep the sock fitted to your foot so you don’t have loose material.
Barefoot feel - These socks definitely give you a barefoot feel because they do not constrain your foot and the thin material lets you feel grounded.
Colors and Styles- They offer alot of colors and style options.
CONS:
Slow Shipping on some style options.
Thin Material - Although this is a pro in some regards, it's also a con. I would imagine these socks are not as durable.
Lack of grips on outer heels - If you’re putting your heels on for footwork, these socks won’t be ideal.
Best Budget Socks- Iris Bear
If you’re looking to get a budget friendly pack of Pilates Socks so you’re not having to do laundry every few days, this is your pick. At $3.33 a pair, you can’t go wrong.
PROS:
Quick Shipping with Amazon Prime
Budget Friendly at $3.33 per pair when you’re buying a 3-pack.
Less Laundry because these are cheaper you can buy more and do less laundry during your work-out week.
Color and Style featuring the classic sporty sock style.
CONS:
Less breathable and soft compared to all the other brands mentioned above.
Loose fabric meaning you will likely slide while holding poses.
Lack of grips on outer heels - If you’re putting your heels on for footwork, these socks won’t be ideal.
Best for barefoot feel - Ozaiic Grip Socks
These socks are very good for on the go. They are thin and small so they are easy to put in your purse for a busy day. They have soft and breathable combed cotton. And have very grippy silicone grips. If you’re someone who doesn’t like wearing socks this is a great option because it almost feels like you’re barefoot.
PROS:
Quick Shipping with Amazon Prime
Soft and Breathable - these socks are made from combed cotton.
Barefoot feel - These socks definitely give you a barefoot feel because they do not constrain your foot and the thin material lets you feel grounded.
Strong grip - these socks are ideal for anyone doing pilates or barre. The grip is strong and you will not slide around.
CONS:

Lack of grips on outer heels - If you’re putting your heels on for footwork, these socks won’t be ideal.
Not Contoured to foots natural curves I have high arches and these socks didn’t touch my arches.
Best Style - Zando Sporty Striped Sock
In terms of looks, these are my favorite. The vintage style stripes make me feel fierce and confident. I feel more athletic than I actually am. These socks do lose a few points because they don’t fit quite as snug as you’d want them too. Thus causing some sliding in your poses. If one of the reasons you are starting your Pilates or Barre journey is to feel more confident and comfortable in your own skin, I would absolutely recommend these socks.
PROS:
Quick Shipping with Amazon Prime
Budget Friendly at $5 per pair when you’re buying a 3-pack.
Less Laundry because these are cheaper you can buy more and do less laundry during your work-out week.
Classic Sporty Style
Soft and breathable fabric
Made in USA
CONS:
Loose fabric meaning you will likely slide while holding poses.
Lack of grips on outer heels - If you’re putting your heels on for footwork, these socks won’t be ideal.
Other notable mentions - Shashi Mesh Grip Socks
I really wanted to like these socks. The concept of the mesh with embroidery detail is adorable. However I felt like they constricted my feet. I ordered a size small and I wear a size 6-6.5 shoe. The arch of these socks didn’t touch my foot at all. The material was soft and breathable.
Pros:
Color and Style - many color options and cute styles
Soft and breathable fabric
Cons:
Poor fit - sock was overall constraining and didn’t fit the natural curves of my feet
Slow Shipping - although they are on Amazon, they don’t have Prime shipping
More Expensive than other options you can buy
